I guess it's time to upgrade from my 20 year old Bushnell yardage pro 800. I would like to get a range finder that can accurately range out to 1000 yards. Even though the Bushnell said 800 yards, I could seldom ex reach past 400-500.

So... Suggestions? Was thinking Leica but would like some feedback on that and other brands. Vortex?

I have the vortex r1000 and its okay will not range to 1k though. 860 is the farthest reading I've gotten. The Leica 1600 hundred will range past 1k. I'm not upgrading until I can afford either a g7 or a set of the zeiss range finding binos. The vortex has served me well.

I've got that same Bushnell. I think if you put a mirror out there at 800 yds, it might register. 450 or so is the best it will do on deer. One of the guys I elk hunt with has a set of binoculars with a range finder built in. Need to contact him to see what brand they are. He regularly gets readings out to 1000 yds and further.

I've got my 1000yd Bushnell to range 1000 on a white vehicle, on deer around 350 if the light is right... black cows some where around 250 or so.
