With this:

See that gut hook - like it was MADE for the task! Pull it just right; close enough to strip it smooth, but not so tight as to take off your arrow outer layer.

Removes the fletching and glue all together, with just a few strokes. I'm sure there's a better way, but that's what I do.

Try the gut hook - you won't be disappointed. Even better than that zip tool because you can pull instead of push, which gives you greater control to dig in or not dig in.

I have a folder with a gut hook. I'll have to give it a try. don't have any to fletch at this particular time, but I'm going to start practicing in a couple of weeks, and then I'll be refletching just about every night.

Why would you be refletching every night? what fletching are you using?

I have to shoot an Xbow now, and I'm not going to pay $100 for a foam target.
I get the yellow jacket model from wally world for $39.
If I do a dozen bolts a night, some always seem to slip between one of the layers and penetrates too deep, tearing off a fletching.
Last year it helped putting the target at an angle to stop some of this.
