Based on what you wrote above would you therefore feel justified in saying "America allows slavery in the 21st century"? I assume not since that would be a gross distortion of the reality.
Likewise, if one is going to say something like "The Dutch had slaves in Brooklyn as late as 1898" - you had best be able to back that up with strong evidence.

I don't think we allow it, but our political types sure seem to turn the other way as there has been no serious efforts to stop it.

It may just be phrasing, but you make it sound like the CIA is complicit in this. "even the CIA admits"
There are 295 million Americans... so 0.0169% of the population are 'slaves'.

In my mind, it's criminal activity. Not a social ill.
