Cool Idea. Better have lots of lube to keep it running though. That friction drive is prone to fail.
I wonder what the max rpm of input it can handle?
Just speculating but it looks like a cover is off so we can see inside. That flange has a raised ridge that looks like it would dove tail into a top cover. Looks like a large drain channel at the bottom. Maybe oil flows over and through.
