Why would you want a barrel band?

To keep the option of installing a mini-scout mount or perhaps a 10/22 lasermax laser open as a possibility.

Maybe I'm reading more into this than is there, but I'm beginning to think the choice of these .44 carbine auctions aren't a coincidence. Maybe there is a reintroduced(redesigned?) SA .44 carbine on the horizon from Ruger after all?

If Ruger gave it a 10 or 12 round magazine and called it a Hog Slayer, they'd sell these as fast as they could produce them.

I have the Ruger .44 mag Semi Auto carbine. Great shooting gun.

I'd love to have the lever gun model.
