Should I send off this Custom shop Colt for a real custom job??

JMHO, but since this gun is special being from your family. It would be the one I would send off, and have the work done so it could be your EDC. That way when its time to pass it down, it will mean just that much more to your child. I know I would rather have a well worn beat up gun my Dad carried every day then a 1 of 300 safe Queen even if it was worth $10,000

Man that is a purdy one. I think I'd have to keep it but also shoot it. Get a custom and bring that one out for BBQs.
