We haven't been above freezing for about three days excluding today.
We had ice rain come down and coat everything in about 1/4" of ice and it's been treacherous walking around the house, to the shop and back.
Haven't got out at all because everything was closed for the most part.
Yesterday morning needed to go to town and had a coat of the ice all over the Tundra.
Fired it up and put it on defrost as there was a layer of ice around the wipers and 6" up the windshield. It didn't thaw after a while, so since it wasn't into the vision just went to town.
Drove all over with several stops and the layer of ice never went away.
Well, actually it did. It melted away from the windshield, but since it was below freezing, it stayed in place. Coming to a stop at a signal light, a sheet of ice came off the roof, slid between the unthawed ice and the windshield and I heard a snap to the left side. I watched that crack travel across the windshield from one side to the other.
That thermal expansion and instant contraction sucks. Guess I'll Find out how good the insurance is tomorrow.
