My guess is that wishful thinking would make it go away.
Some people think It’ll come back in the fall, and some people maybe even most people say it won’t.
Win the news cycle is all that matters.
Tell that to the people in Tucson. 105 or so every day right now and the virus has almost shut that city down. This myth is just that heat has no effect on killing this virus

i worry testing is too slow. Our neighbor just popped positive. It was after he and his wife had been to florida for a couple's weekend with friends. He didn't show any signs (he said) until he realized he couldn't smell a dirty diaper. In between they visited family and he played in a golf tournament.

I don't know when he became a spreader, but he did go about two weeks before his issue with smell developed. Right now they wont test unless you are showing signs or have been in contact with someone who is sick. By those standards he wouldn't have qualified (again, he said).

Now if we are talking about testing and contact tracing then i could see it working better since people who have come into contact with a sick person would have some chance to avoid spreading it before they become symptomatic.

Yeah it's back to the same issue as when this started months ago. Testing once and then going right back out day after day is pointless if it's days or weeks between tests. Test in the morning, stop at the gas station the way home, contract covid while inside buying cheetos and root beer, asymptomatic or very mild symptoms occur and they go about their daily routine for the next 5 weeks and test again. Still negative lol, they just didn't test at the right time.

if only there were things we could easily do that are known to reduce spreading while in places like gas stations. You know, just in case.

Test, test, test.

"Everyone can get tested, symptoms or not."

Maybe so, but not at your doctor's office. We still can't get the testing kits we want. We covered this topic today in our weekly business meeting. As of noon today, we had 8 testing kits in our office, with a number of people scheduled to come in for testing today.

Two lab offices in our town. RML is at the hospital. They flat refuse to give us any testing kits. None. Zero.

Labcorp keeps people in our office. We have 8 kits and currently are told we can order FIVE NEW KITS PER WEEK.

I know multiple people are told they can go to the health dept and have a rapid 15-minute test done. One of my patients yesterday had an appt for today at the health dept. He was in our office and because our Labcorp tests take 2-3 days, he opted to go to the health dept. We called today and he told us he tested positive. But they didn't do the 'rapid' test on him, so I don't know how he knew that. Supposedly. Word of mouth, you know.

We are seeing more positives. Yes, in younger folks. This guy is like... I dunno, 24 or something. I've had a couple other positives recently, including one Hispanic guy prolly 50 or so, now his wife and kids all exhibiting symptoms, someone who works at a local casino came in today for testing with a fever, also has similarly sick kids...

The numbers gonna go up.

And the state says anyone can get tested - if you go to their state-controlled site. Not your doctor. Makes us look like fools and incompetents, and gets everyone depending on the state for everything. Figures, eh?

I don't have an i-Phone, but on my Motorola Android, when I went into "Settings," there was a search window at the top to "Search Settings." When I typed in "Covid-19," it showed up.

Sure enough same here...
