It was a joke. Nobody said it, that's why that right there was funny.Who said i wanted to be a lawyer im happy being what i am Nothing just a old goodger sitting back and doing what i want when i want and enjoying life as i please.
Interesting poll, the results follow the standard bell curve. I'm a little surprised at the number of folks from the 40's. That means I'm probably not the geezerest of old geezer members. However, I am old enough to remember watching Jack Paar host the Tonight Show in 1961 before Johnny Carson took over. Heck, I even remember watching Milton Berle and Imogene Coca, Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, Groucho Marx, and a young variety show host named Ed Sullivan the night he shocked the world with a hip-shaking act by a kid from Memphis called Elvis.
Bit of a stretch to call a few of them comedians.I can't remember the particulars, but there was also another late night (10:30 pm to sign off time) show that was hosted by Steve Allen. With regards to the "particulars," I don't know if it was another show at the same time as Parr's or if it preceded Parr's show. I'll have to see if I can research that one.
EDIT: Just found it. Steve Allen was the first to host The Tonight Show.
"The Tonight Show is an American late-night talk show that has aired on NBC since 1954. The show has been hosted by six comedians: Steve Allen (1954–1957), Jack Paar (1957–1962), Johnny Carson (1962–1992), Jay Leno (1992–2009 and 2010–2014), Conan O'Brien (2009–2010), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present)."
Steve Allen also hosted again on a different late night show in the '60's.

Sept. 1948 for me, and Red Skelton still my favorite comedian.Bit of a stretch to call a few of them comedians.
Old enough to have worn a Leisure Suit to the prom
True, but I did call them "hosts."
