Don't know what an ant idea is but the fires on wind turbines typically start from lightning strikes, or mechanical failures that result in lubrication fires when the oil overheats. You would be surprised at how poorly/crudely these wind towers are built.

There one down by Rush Springs that has sprung a leak. Big giant brown oil stain all over the box & tower. Don’t look all that green to me. Maybe it’s synthetic oil.

I don't know how it happened, but years ago when the wind energy first started and OG&E put up a booth at the state fair to get people to sign up for it, I asked about the cost. Someone must have had a moment of honesty and told me that it would be more expensive.

That plus the fact that they likely wouldn't run a special line from the tower source and to our home tipped me off that it was all a scam. And, it still is. Google to find out what percentage of what renewable energy is produced globally. The percentage of all renewable energy is very low, and most of that percentage is done by hydroelectric generation, not wind nor solar.

Went and found a chart. I don't know when this chart was published, but that 30 percent in green is the renewable energy part and the list at the right breaks down each of the renewables. The renewable list shows the sources listed under "Other."

these turbines are nasty,noisy dangerous. the blades fall off at times and they fly quite a distance when the workers change oil coolant etc they just pump it out and let it rain down around the turbine. the transformers catch fire and more. and my biggest gripe is that they promised riches and glory when they came in so the schools all bonded up millions upon millions and now they don't pay their fair share of property tax,that leaves me holding the bag. then there are tax credits i have to pay for etc. just make them be competitive and cut all the free money and see what happens. and they don't create jobs for the area. rant rant rant...
