Actually, it was the same answer for all three questions. In matters of State, it really should be irrelevant. The rest of my post adequately addressed my feelings on the subject. :)

I agree with you that religion and race should not enter in to matters of state in America, but let's quit lying by saying it doesn't. What is our unwavering support of Israel based on and who in our Gov./population are pushing it? It's based on "Judeo-Christian values" that are questionable at best and contrary to each other in doctrine, and the supremacist belief that one race is "chosen".
What was the founding of Israel, most contend it was prophesy that had to be fulfilled to bring the rest of theirs and Christianity's to fulfillment, how did it happen?, through war and terrorism, look what it's done to the region, why should we continue to support it?

What kind of ally has Israel been to us? Show anywhere it has helped America and not cost us. And could it be true that involvement and picking sides in a long standing religious conflict along with all the other meddling we've done in that part of the world is part of why we're a target now?

It doesn't make sense that the right is supporting Israel(given it's socialist roots) and specifically Netenyahu for political reasons and sending bunches of our tax dollars to support things they fight against here like nationalized healthcare and a large welfare load. It's well known in Israel that Netenyahu gives out welfare for political support just like it's said Obama does.

"With heavy lobbying from ultra-Orthodox parties that often prove crucial in forming government coalitions, Israel has increased welfare payments fivefold since 1970, while the standard of living has doubled, he said.
Nearly a decade ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was then finance minister, won praise for slashing welfare payments, including monthly per-child allowances. But last year Netanyahu, in a nod to his right-wing coalition partners, agreed to nearly double some child allowances".

We call Israel a democracy but when you have a Chief Rabbinate as a state position and religious courts with control over peoples lives how is that so different than the Muslim countries, Just because it's a different religion that we like better?

Let's also remember those growing and seeking power in Israel believe and might well want to make everyone follow the O.T. stuff, some of it much like Islam.

The radicalization of the haredi world

The founding fathers formed this nation to be free of religion in politics, is it?

Washington said; “The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible", pretty clear there's lots of political connections between the U.S. and Israel and that it's cost us much, maybe if we could find out just how many in our Gov. have dual citizenship we'd realize how many connections there are. Funny how so many are disturbed that Obama may be Muslim when there can be no religious test for office but we have no problem with people that may owe allegiance to another nation running our Gov.

I am not against fighting terrorism but we should look at it differently because even some of our experts say we're doing it wrong and it's costing us and dividing us, and I am against a war based on or clouded by religion that ignores political realities, yes all the terrorist are radical Muslims but not all Muslims are radicals or terrorist

On the other hand let's say the opposite is true and it's all Muslims, so what should we do make Islam illegal, force conversions, round them up and deport them? It's said we can't deport the illegals so could we deport the Muslims? Should we just kill'em all and let God sort it out like good Christians? And while we're at it should we take Muhammad's image down from the wall in the Supreme Court building?

SM, we finally have a valid explanation. Turns out, you were right all along.

Link to the dumbest thing you will hear all day.

Behold ignorance, masquerading as religious adherence. :(

I'm all for letting Israel fend for itself, so long as we also remove our muzzle on them while we're at it. I assume you disagree with out dictating THEIR foreign policy and domestic security policy, just as feverently as you do our financial involvement? :anyone:

Fair is fair, it's their country we shouldn't pay for it or tell them how to run it.

In all fairness when some have been saying they have the magic book for thousands of years(the Kabbalah) it could be understandable for some to believe them. It is a rather backward part of the world in some ways, it's said some there still believe in the Jinn and other things of that sort. Pretty wild, next thing you know they'll be saying a man can go to heaven without dying, see visions from God, angles can interact with people, a virgin can give birth, a man can return from the dead, demons can posses people and others can cast them out, or that wine and bread can become flesh and blood.

Do you understand those aren't the ones most religious folk consider parables?

But they are parables. Some accept them as truth but they are not.

The Bible, Koran, has been mutilated over the years to make the believers think that is the truth.

Bible, Eye for an Eye.
Koran, kill infidels.

The people that believe this crap are what is causing the issues in the world today.

Some people can't think for themselves. They need people to think for them, then they embrace the theology
Cult leaders around the world have done this for centuries. David Kouresh, Jim John's. and others are just examples.

When you take a person that has to walk two miles to get fresh water for their family, and give them support, they are going to go with the ideology with that support, or die.

When in the military in the 70's, I watched villagers wave NVA flags at the departing soldiers before assaulting the same village.

When we came into the village, the same guy waved American flags at us.

He only wanted to stay alive, and did what he had to do.

I understand what you say and agree for the most part but differ in the point that I don't think it's beliefs of any type that cause the problems, it's when people try to force others to believe something or prevent people from believing something that the problems start. Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others might get along if they didn't have to be boss, right, have the only truth, and try to force the others to believe it or harm them/take their stuff etc.
