There is a certain irony putting “In God We Trust” on money.

Also, it didn’t appear on all money until 1956. Think it started on coins somewhere right after the civil war.

The saying seems far more like a talisman than reality. As someone that attends a rather “conservative” place of worship… I’ve never cared for the phrase on money, as it’s simply not true.
I have always thought it ironic that we put the word God on money when Jesus specifically held a minted coin when he said, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's."

Putting “God” on money is always funny. Half the people don’t trust any “God” and others have their own “God”. I guess trusting in an invisible, supposedly all-powerful being is better than trusting the government though.
