Read the manuals. Listen to those with years of experience. Stick to the listed loads. Develop a good quality control and inspection system. Be ready to spend more money on shooting. Have fun.

first get some books and read then read some more. The ABC's of Reloading is a good one and can be picked up used from ebay cheap.
you can make it as simple or as complicated as you want. if your just plinking, then stick with simple. pick a load and try it. if its accurate enough for you and cycles your gun, then stick with it.
also, it depends on what your wanting to accomplish with reloading. usually its saving money. my experience is this
jacketed bullets-about 1/3 savings
lead bullets-about half
or cast your own for about $2.50 a box of loaded ammo!

its a great hobby and satisfying...for a first step buy the Lee reloading manual...there is a lot of info in there that you wont find anywhere else...then - a kit with everything in it- if you try to buy it all piece by piece you will spend almost as much and end up at the bench missing something- ENJOY-

If a guy shopped right he could probably get into a basic reloading setup with supplies for around $90. By shopping right I mean used dies off eBay and a used press like from a garage sale.

Keeping in mind that a box of .44 mag sells for $34 at Walmart, it's pretty easy to see how reloading can be cost-effective.
