+1! I still remember my first hunt/deer at 11 years old. It made such a positive impact on my life and I feel it truly set me on the right path from which I've never strayed. Keep it up and build into his life.
Great story he will remember it 4 every & so will you. I have a similar story not to hijack but my son shot his 1st buck (3rd deer) at the same time at night we were up on a ridge shooting down & I saw the bullet hit the dirt & I said you missed. Deer took off like a scalded cat & lost him in the 6 ft weeds, didn;t see him go down or escape. looked forever & never found him. Came back to hunt in the morning & tripped over him in the grass he had ran about 100 yrds & expired. The postmortum showed a perfect heart shot with dad's handloads. Had a skull mount done & tanned the hide for him he has the skull on the wall & uses the hide as a rug. He still remembers every detail especially you missed & his reply of no I didn't. Enjoy the moments because eventually they will go & hunt on there own
