Since I don't have a shelter yet, mine stays in the bolted down safe. Even after I get a shelter, it will stay in the safe.

I keep ammo for the .45 in our tornado bag as well as an extra magazine - among the plethora of other crap.

Don't have a 22. Don't believe in them...they're for sissies. Get a real gun. Oh, sorry. Just mouthing off. Heck yes save the ammo. Should be a staple item in you bug out bag.
