Trail cams on public land

Well, first off, they're allowed, right?

Secondly, how's the safety of leavin em out there? I know in other state's I've hunted, you leave a cam on public land, you never see it again.

Do people tend to mess with em here?

I've never had one stolen from public land. I don't mount them on the main thoroughfare and I lock them up. The security on trail cameras is a joke, but if they don't see them, they won't steal them.

I would have a tough time leaving one on public land. I even get nervous leaving them on private unless I can check them regularly. If you are I agree with Weatherby, keep them off the main trails and try to secure them the best you can.
