He (victim) is connected somehow to outreach ministry efforts of our church congregation. Still waiting on more info.
I've only been in Oklahoma for two weeks now, but from what I've read it sounds like Tulsa PD and Albuquerque PD would be fantastic bedfellows. For themselves, at least. God help anyone who would be stuck in that municipality.
I wonder if the shooter was playing this from the Suburban at the time?
You don't think it says anything about the types of psychological profiles that Tulsa Police recruits, or trains for?To be fair, And noting that Tulsa police has had its fair share of legitimate bad press, this incident has little to so with the department and everything to do with a couple of really disturbed individuals.
Oh, crap! What did the Tulsa Police do now?!? Oh, it wasn't the Tulsa PD violating the rights of citizens or being corrupt? It was individuals, who happen to be Tulsa Police officers who also weren't acting under the auspices of authority, committing felonies?!? Thread title is disingenuous.
How can we expect the public, media, or politicians to not lump every law-abiding gun owner in with those that commit mass-shootings when some use the same tactics? We call for the recognition of personal responsibility when something like the Sandy Hook or Virginia Tech shootings takes place but are awfully quick to attribute, or insinuate that, the actions of a few officers, not acting in official capacity in this case, to the agency which they are employed. You want to lambast the Moore PD for the actions of their officers, who were working security in a quasi-official status, at the Warren Theatre in Moore? Fine. Union City PD for their cops for roughing up and threatening a journalist for filming Street Outlaws set on closed state highway? Cool. But how does the TPD get the blame for a dad rolling up and killing his daughter's BF and trying to kill his daughter and then him and his wife hiding evidence?
Or maybe I am off base...
You don't think it says anything about the types of psychological profiles that Tulsa Police recruits, or trains for?
When it seems like you can't go more than a couple of months or so without a TPD officer being in the news for being involved in some type of criminal activity what exactly is the impression people are supposed to have?
If the shoe fits....
