The Ford Cmax Hybrid I have to drive sometimes at work gets less MPG than my kid's all gas Honda Fit. And I bet the Honda was way cheaper than that thing.
I looked at those too. My research came up the same: they didn’t perform as advertised unless you know some secret driving technique.
I’m pretty handily beating the EPA rating on this car. They rate it 40/39, and my average (calculated) is 45.8. Which I’ve been able to meet or exceed EPA ratings on every modern car I’ve owned, except our Buick Enclave. I’ve never even met the rating; either all highway or all city.
