You want it sprayed on the metal. It creates a great moisture barrier. Hail is not gonna knock this stuff off of anything. It's extremely difficult to remove once it's applied. It also adds a substantial amount of structural integrity to metal-sided buildings.

I'd certainly recommend getting all your electric installed before the foam, if you decide to go that route.
And install additional runs of conduit and ports where more could be ran. I thought when we built our 30X40 that there was more than enough electrical outlets. 4 outlets per upright. Not nearly enough with the equipment I have.
Also install bigger conduit than needed so additional wire can be pulled.
