I managed to sneak down to the range for a quick shoot to compare the G43 with the PPS: The G43 shot like it always does, boringly reliable and quite accurate. I was also very impressed and pleased with the PPS; it really does shoot like a bigger gun, as I have heard some say before. Accuracy was good, controls and ergonomics were also good. The bottom line is all rounds were hitting the targets where I wanted them to, and I had no issues or problems with either pistol. I didn't really think I would, I just wanted to get out of the house and burn some ammo anyway. I used WWB 115 gr, Rem Green Box 115 gr and some WWB 124 gr NATO. Compared to my much used G43, the PPS was just as good. I think I will carry it some and go shoot it a few more times before I decide if I am going to keep it or not. I am going to post some pics and comments of the two pistols in comparison here in little while. Right now, I need to clean and lube these two bad boys.

Some similarities, yet some differences in regards to the slide and trigger group. The Glock is a snap to disassemble; the PPS; not quite as easy. It’s a two-pin deal; the forward pin is hollow and it isn’t a snap to take out without proper tools. Probably need to research and be prepared to replace it if you pop it out. On the Glock; it’s a two-minute job to completely take it down to a bare slide and frame.

The PPS is very well built. The Glock is too, and yes; I’m a fan, but...an example is the rails on the two guns that the slide rides on. The PPS has hefty rails and the Glock has almost wimpy slide guides it seems, in comparison. Oh you aren’t going to easily break either one, but the Walther dudes put some serious though into this gun. It is a REAL Walther too, not an Umarex made thing like the CCP or the PK280. I think Walther took some things from the excellent PPQ and the M1 PPS to the newly revised PPS M2. Better grip, no funky blackstrap to lose or fall off rendering the gun unable to fire. No rail; who needs a rail on a small gun like this? Anyway, more pics:

Note that the PPS Front Sight is screwdriver friendly.

That's been one of my things with Glocks forever and one of the bigger reasons I went M&P. It's never turned into an issue AFAIK but it doesn't give confidence either.

The one thing I wish they had done differently with the PPS M2 is keep the slide and front end of the frame, the same. Having to buy new magazines is expensive enough and having the same slide and frame shape, you could at least not have to buy a new holster for it.

For me, there has always been features I loved about Walthers AND features that I have always hated about Walthers.

As far as Holsters go, Leather should be fine between the Classic and M2. It’s kydex where it will not fit quite right.

You are right in that the mags are not interchangeable and that sucks.

Features: I love the classic lines of the PP series, the P5, and the PPQ Family. I hate that the ppk safety tends to operate backwards; the guns can inadvertently drop into SAFE when firing and that, most certainly, is not good.

Not sure leather would keep a snug fit. As well as the M2 nose being slimmer than the classic, the trigger guard is much different too. Guess somebody would have to try the two to know.
