I’m a conservative libertarian ( I’m happy to live and let live, except in all pedophile issues, I’m a gun toting redneck hippy). I love my freedom, my guns, family, my VWs, my streetrod, Harley’s and Hondas, so you might have a problem pinning me down. I hate child molesters and sincerely believe each and everyone of them should have their pecked nailed to a stump, be handed a butter knife and set the stump on fire.
Yes, and I sincerely hope that you all try not to concern yourselves too much with these things.Lots of good people here who suscribe to the "live and let live" philosophy. Nothing wrong with that except that the commie/socialist/lefty crowd does not adhere to that policy and is always on the attack.
Some of you call yourselves "liberals". Fine. Pick any label you want but I suspect that you are still hanging onto the "liberal" label from the '70's when "liberals" just wanted to live life as they pleased without any government interference. Sounds a lot like conservatives today. Weird.
I think most Okies are very independent. They aren't very susceptible to group-think. Open-minded is the better term. You can't really label most Okies i have met. Though it is fair to describe most Okies as having conservative values in the traditional sense, a distrust/dislike of Government at any level, but it's not like they have a brand loyalty to the Republican Party, either.
I don't want the Democrats running things here in OK, that's for ****ing sure. But i also don't like that the Republican Party has such a stranglehold, either. We need more independents in office. When you have too much power staying with one party(in any state), there grows corruption and nepotism...
I have often said that if the Libertarian Party had any chance at all of being elected, in ANY race, I would vote for that candidate. Unfortunately, the chances are vanishingly small. In theory, I don't necessarily disagree. In reality, you're gonna get one or the other. That's the main reason I vote straight republican. It's as close as I can get to what I believe (that has a chance of getting elected). Both parties suck. The republican party just sucks a LOT less than the democrat party.
You can only vote in the primaries of the party with which you are registered in Oklahoma, unless it has changed.I don't register as independent or unaffiliated because in most states if you do that you can't vote in primaries. I don't know if it's that way in OK or not since I just registered as a republican.
In Oklahoma a registered Independent can vote in the Democratic primaries.
Only registered Republicans can vote in Republican primaries.
