Oklahomans who voluntarily seek mental counseling or treatment still would not forfeit their right to get a concealed-carry handgun license under a bill approved Monday by a House committee.

I dont see a problem with it. The phrase "Mental Help" can mean lots of different things. Not just that you are a nut job.

I agree with Diesel, grief counseling would be considered mental help

It's like asking what we think about felons being able to own firearms. It's too big of a blanket to get a definite answer.

I know of truck drivers who have symptoms of very treatable conditions who will not go to the doctor, because they are afraid of being medically disqualified. One day, they will die behind the wheel when they stroke out. I'm sure there are some who carry who need some form of counseling and are afraid to get help. I see this bill as a good idea. However, I thought that you only lost your license to carry if you were involuntarily committed. Was I wrong?
