What is the best powder for 45 ACP

I'll second WST for target and general purpose loads. For serious "business" loads Power Pistol is really good, actually great if you can stand the noise and flash. Not too bad in the 5" guns but might be a handful in the short barrels.

Nimaro, thanks for the tip on the HP38. I did not know that. I use w231 for my .45 and 9mm loads. I need to get some and of course Sports world was out of it. I will try to find some HP38.

Light heavy lead or one with a jacket, most of the time you just have to get what's in stock.
hs-6 unique, tightgroup and power pistol is what I used the most of.

I like unique because it is not possible to get a double load, don't have anything against bullseye ether, have not used any of the others mentioned

Lots of good answers in this thread. I personally like 4.0 grains of IMR700x, a little on the light side for sight reaquisition and fugality
