What the hell is wrong with people these days??

A bad situation to be sure but what could any of us realisticaly have done to stop the attack?

1) Pull your weapon and order the attackers to cease and desist?

2) Physically intervene and use force to stop the attack?

3) Use your own body to shield the victim?

1 and 2 seem to me to be recipes for ending up in the slammer.

3 is viable but at great risk to one's self. Would you be willing to die to save a stranger and leave your own family fatherless?

Tough situation? Hard choices. I have no idea how I would react in that situation.

YES!!
I know exactly how I would react!!
All of the above..what ever it took to stop the attack. I am 6'3" and well over 200lbs. I would have got between her and the attackers and done whatever was necessary to make them stop the attack. I'll probably take flame for this response but there is no way I would have let that continue.

If you choose #3...chances are you will be accosted by said assailants...and then one has opportunity to DEFEND one's self...

Another variable is the employees. How would they react to intervention? You might have to deal with them as well as the 2 perps. In OK, what use-of-force options would be useable in that scenario?

I'm not a big guy by any means (5'10" 190), but I would think I could easily grab one of those women by the shirt and shoulder and give them a pretty good toss across the room. Especially if I had the element of surprise. Then grab the girl and escort her the heck out somewhere. I am sure all of this would be effective and have little risk of going to jail, consider you simply removed the assailant and did not strike at them.

Sorry guy I lost my head for a second. The problem is people are scared of getting in trouble. I have never been to jail but I am damn sure not scared to stand up for what's right. Regardless of the outcome.

Have a good time explaining why you resorted to violence in the courtroom instead of removing yourself and the victim from the situation. I would have just picked the victim up and carried her out the door. I cant stand drama so i would have just left and nipped that shyt in the bud. Either the situation warrants an ass whooping or leave the idiots to fight amongst themselves (in this case the latter)... period. Anything else is just enhancing the problem.
