I also have a vitamix, which I think is a better, but more expensive choice, but my father in law has the ninja and he loves his. One tip, if you make smoothies with it, instead of using ice, freeze your ingredients. I make fruit smoothies all the time (sometimes even add some kale or spinach) with greek yogurt and unsweetened coconut milk and just buy bags of frozen fruit from the supermarket, tastes less watered down that way...

FYI: Not trying to sell anyone on the Ninja but I was thinking about getting one and came across these links. The one direct from Ninja has extra attachments(Ninja Professional Prep System) and a supposed "limited lifetime guarantee(?)" with free shipping both ways(?):

Yea, the extras are an extra selling point. We had a chance to play with one and that sold her. I am sure we will be getting the extras. It will be put to the test in this house.
