Why I like the .45ACP

Actually, with the modern ammo your not far off.
Manufactures have seen the light and are working on the 9/.40 rounds. FBI stats say that 10" penetration in ballistic gel is a standard. The .380 Hornady will now exceed that.

Well then, looks like the OP should trade his .45 in for a .380.

I got the Hornady Zombie Max in .380 for home defense. They look pretty nasty.

They don't make a .46? Sure do, called the .460 Rowland and they are great! Have a Commander and Full size with the Clark conversions ..... Check them out ....

The Raw knock down power of the .45 is what I like so much. The recoil is not that bad either.

Now that you mention it the green plug does look considerably more devastating than they red one.....

Of course I can ask the same about 9mm, 40S&W, 38 Super, 357 Sig, 10mm, etc, etc.
