t’s good until she tries to replace it.
She replaced it a couple days after the check cleared and got a better vehicle and a great deal on it.
Lucky .
Anyone seeing insurance renewals lately?
My home owners went up I expected it to as replacement costs are higher.

I had my insurance company shop around and saved me money on 1 house and 1 car i used as a bundle and saved over 400 bucks vs last years premium.
I have 4 cars and 4 houses to insure gets expensive.

I pay auto premiums by the year and save some there.
ECI insurance company in Piedmont is who I use and they have saved a couple friends money on insurance.

I went and got my stuff out and took some more pictures. The frame doesn’t look bent.

Geico called me today and informed me that my truck is totaled. Said they will give me $22,000 for it. I have gap insurance anyway but that will pay it off but I will not have anything in my pocket as I owe about $22,000 on it. Geico is wanting me to sign my title over to them, sign a power of attorney form and another form. I don’t understand why they need me to sign the power of attorney. Here is the forms they sent me to sign. I know there are some lawyers on here that can comment so please do. I don’t know if I should ain’t these or not.

The power of attorney is so they can complete any other necessary paperwork to transfer ownership from you to them without having to harass you to sign a bunch of stuff. I was a total loss adjuster for Farmer's for a few weeks a long time ago, so things may have changed since then. I just remember the PoA being part of our standard packet we would send out before we could release the check to the insured.

Also, find as many comparable trucks in your area as you can. Their initial offer isnt written in stone. You can also ask your adjuster to provide the local comparable vehicles they are using for their value assessment. It isn't really a negotiation, but you can provide a counterargument with support for a higher number.

Do your research. Shop around and see what it would cost you right now to replace with same trim and miles.
10 years ago my wife’s Jeep was stolen, Geico lowballed us at first. I came back at them with actual vehicles and they ended up almost doubling what they were offering initially. They will give you as little as you allow them to. Just be respectful and firm in your approach. Bring lots of proof from your research.
