I'd stay with a 642/442. Can be had for right at $400 new and that's some serious coin to save over the Airlites so you can buy some ammo and shoot the dang thing!
Had a S&W 642 centennial, bought an LCR, shot the 2 side by side & consequently sold the Smith. It was the 1st & only time a trigger on a Ruger was superior to a Smith...@ least in my experience. Price was better too @ the time.
