Moore HS student arrested with gun

MOORE, Oklahoma -- A Moore High School student was discovered with a handgun on campus Wednesday morning, according to Moore Police.

A letter from the Moore High School principle went out to parents Wednesday evening to notifying them of the incident.

Moore Police said, around 10:30 a.m. a campus resource officer, who was investigating a report of students smoking, discovered the student with a gun.

"He had it in his hand whenever the officer saw him. He started to put it back in his waistband and the officer told him to drop the gun," said Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis.

The student was taken into custody by the campus resource officer and transported to a juvenile facility.

The student will be facing a charge of having a firearm in school.

"This is the second time in a year a student was found with a gun at school," Lewis said.

Police said no threats were made.

lol, hell man we did too in Chino Valley, AZ. in the 80's and 90's. All good as long as they stayed in your vehicle, even in plain sight. Never even had to worry about people stealing them.

I can understand a hunting rifle in the truck, or an rotc rifle, but it was a little wanna be banger with it in his waist band, who pulled it out to show it off. What does a kid at MHS need a gun on him for? Gentlemen settle it with fisticuffs

This kid is apparently not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Despite nostalga, and nobody cared if we brought guns to school either, guns on a school campus are, like it or not, now a quick ticket to expulsion. Often they are a quick ticket to jail too. Them's the silly rules, and swimming upstream in today's climate is stooooopid.

I hope this doesn't manage to screw up his life too badly, though chances are it could have already used some unscrewing. CB

They're big and bad with a gun, but a real sissy boy for a one on one fight. Might get your a** kicked and look wimpy to your friends.
