They're really simple to make. Warm up sauerkraut in a small pan or skillet (perfect when cooked with pepper until almost browned). Rye bread + Swiss cheese + corned beef + thousand island dressing + [optional] spicy brown or dijon mustard. Layer to your preference, butter both sides of the sandwich and cook in a skillet just like you would a grilled cheese sandwich.

Since the only ingredient in that recipe that I like is the rye bread, I think I'll pass on trying a reuben sandwich :wink2:

Dammit Danny, until this post I'd convinced myself to pass on the Reuben today. Not anymore

If you haven't had one yet, GET ONE.

There's an Arby's next to where I work, so I've had 3 this week already. It may be the best sandwich I've ever had. Plus, I eat just one and I'm not hungry for the rest of the day.

Just finished one for lunch.

If the bolded part above is really true, I am very, very sorry for you, my friend.

I am a sandwich virgin, so maybe I need to explore my sandwiches more.

For the price you've paid to eat Reubens over the last couple of days you could have bought the goods to make them yourself at home. :P

Mostly focus on getting a good rye bread and good corned beef. Cheaping out on those will equal a crappy sandwich, even if you buy the most gourmet 1000 island dressing and swiss.

All of this Reuben talk made me want one. Yesterday after the range we had about 30 minutes to kill, so we went to Arby's for a late lunch. I got the OG Reuben and it was ok, there was just something about their marble rye that I wasn't a fan of. Tt was definitely no Kaiser's and from the sounds of it, worlds away from being an Ingrid's Reuben.
