Embraced from behind and a belt holstered weapon discharges and punctures the cop's lung and enters the woman's heart????

Or the Officer is wearing a shoulder holster. A vertical one or a horizontal one (I've worn both).

In neither of the scenarios can I visualize a discharging weapon doing what the article says."Someone explain to me. Help me visualize how an embrace from the rear could cause the officer to be shot in a lung, the bullet continues on and hits the woman in the heart.

What am I missing here?
Must have angled through the lung. "Miller" and the "woman" are the same person. One person, two pronouns. Happens every day.

It was a traditional waist holster, apparently:
"There is no indication whatsoever that the officer placed his hand on his weapon at all," said Godbee during a press conference Monday afternoon. He added that the officer had his weapon secured in a department-issued holster around his waist.

Horizontal shoulder holster.

And fwiw I think they are a horrible choice for carry and personally do not look forward to seeing people wearing them openly come November.

A horizontal shoulder holster points straight back. Even with an embrace from the rear how could the officer get shot (maybe nicked but not shot thru the lung) and how could the woman have taken one thru the heart. The angle is all wrong.

M'thinks someone is trying real hard to CTA.

The officer did not get hit miller and the victim are one in the same.
The article states the officer is still working performing administrative duties(riding a desk) pending the outcome of the investigation.
