Lube ?

Do you lube your pistol every time you clean it? What parts do you lube?

Also, same question for a 22 rifle, what parts and how often for lube?

Both weapons mentioned above are semi autos.

I lube slides with white lithium, spray everything else with rem oil

The Owner's Manual...always a good place to start. Don't over-lube it. But lube it.

I've been using the Frog lube lately and have found it to perform well.
Clean, spray lube, wipe it down after use.

As for my 22lr I clean them when they start jamming, but use CLP in between as needed or at end of firing.

30 wt is good stuff. If it is synthetic like Norman uses it's great stuff. Oh, and like druryj said, don't over lube it...what he didn't tell you is why. It will only stay overlubed for one or two shots...then you will be wearing the excess.

Use synthetic motor oil or gear oil. Always lube your gun, even if you don't clean it. It MUST be lubricated. That said, don't soak it down, oil it lightly. Wipe the excess from the outside of the gun wherever it runs out.

..and use a very light oil such as CLP for semi 22's.
A heavy oil will cause some resistance, and the light blowback of the .22 may not cycle the slide.

I use standard bearing grease. I always hit the channels in the slide with a little grease from a Q tip and rub grease into the area where the barrel rubs. I always use Rem oil on a patch all around the inside first.
