I'm not sure what you are trying to read into my post, but I was very clear about how "I feel that I can gain insight into people's decisions" by what they decide to permanently tattoo on their bodies.

I'm glad someone you knew had "F -Life" on their knuckles and impressed you that they had some money, that has nothing to do with what I wrote.

...and where on Earth did you come up with "I'm guessing you probably wouldn't be caught dead talking to me in the light of day ... That's too bad ..."? I haven't even eluded to such actions...I have plenty of friends with PLENTY of tattoos, in fact one guy I've known for 20 years has 70% of his body covered.

That's neat you can judge me by my tattoos. You must be really smart. Very impressive that you think you can. Or as you say, gain insight into my life.

I told the story not that long ago about how I judged someone and then was taught better - the big, hairy tattooed biker who scared the hell out of me and was then so very nice to my little boy. I like to think I've learned from that.

The people that bother me with tats are the ones in front of me in line at the grocery store using their SNAP card.

My favorite is all of these girls on facepuke that like to share post after post about Jesus, religion, etc., then talk about wanting to go out and "get some ink". I guess they've never read Leviticus?

Really? I'm no religious scholar and one step removed from straight up heathen, but even I recognize the complexity and differences between the old and new testament, the new covenant vs. the old, and most importantly the difference between ancient rules of conduct written for priests and Levites and the expected behavior/morality of Christians.

Ink doesn't equal heathen. Lack of ink doesn't equal sainthood

Wow! With your psychic abilities you should be a cop.

It's not psychic if he's physically observing them. His decision about the person based on that observation is just inaccurate.

Even if the tattoo said something about them, it said something about them when they got that tattoo. It doesn't necessarily mean anything about them now. So a person in their 30s with tattoos doesn't mean anything really. They could have just gotten them this year or they could have run out at 16 and got a horribly-done back alley tattoo of a sombrero-wearing monkey riding a donkey on a drunken whim for $300. But either way you can't tell just by looking at them.

The people that bother me with tats are the ones in front of me in line at the grocery store using their SNAP card.

Why does it bother you?

I profile people based on the QUALITY of their tats, not the size or number. If your tat looks like it came from Cellblock 6 or the bowels of a heroin den, I'm gonna keep my eye on you, and not in a good way!

If you've got tats that look like they cost you time, money and not a fair amount of thoughtful reflection, I'll appreciate the ink for the art it is.

Thats the thing, not everyone can tell the difference between good art and bad art. Some prison work is freaking awesome, but the black&gray or weird 'inks' (ashe, etc) they used gives them away if youre in the business like me and you really know what youre looking at. Then again some work Ive seen on people gotten in shops by hacks looks pretty bad.

Ive been in jail 2 times my entire adult life: one of them I was out in a few hours after I sobered up and the other I was out first thing the next morning. I have never been inside a court room for anything criminal other than for objecting to a few speeding tickets or a few times for disturbing the peace (playing music too loud usually). Still, I have been asked more than a few hundred times "where did I do my time at?". Lollll. And I have all custom one of kind work by friends who are highly reputable artists that if I had had to pay for all of it would have been in the tens of thousands of dollars.

11-12 years ago when I was dating my wife long distance I was driving from California where I lived fulltime then to see her in Oklahoma, I got pulled over in Nebraska by the highway patrol on I-80 in my 98' TT Supra, black with California license plates. The officer came up and asked me to come back to his car. He saw my sleeved arms then asked me what I did for a living. I said tattoo artist and rock musician, a guitarist in a touring band. He said when he first saw me, in a $50k car with sleeves, he figured drug dealer. He then unbuttoned his shirt to show me as much as he could of a full back piece that was just awesome. I didnt get searched but did get a speeding ticket, and thankfully not for the 98 in a 75 I was going, he knocked it down to 9 over. I have since tattooed many LEOs chests and backs and have done a shiteload of coverups for ex-cons.

I'm not a Christian per se, either, but what I said has nothing to do with ink or no ink necessarily making one a heathen or not. Now, if the Bible-thumpers want to throw out the Old Testament, fine. Otherwise, it specifically states "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord." Means what it says, or not?
