If we were to put a monument of Shariah law on the capitol grounds, would that be permissible as well?

No, it wouldn't.

Parents are fine with this school having a painting of The Last Supper, but became upset when Islamic displays were put up.

Hypocrisy at its finest. Those who support the 10 Commandments on state property are the first to scream, "If you don't like it, don't look at it!". Yet, when it's their turn to utilize that advice, it's a no go!

If the founders had been Pastafarians then your argument would not be ridiculous.

Well they weren't Christians.

"The 1796 Treaty with Tripoli states that the United States was "not in any sense founded on the Christian religion". This was not an idle statement meant to satisfy muslims-- they believed it and meant it. This treaty was written under the presidency of George Washington and signed under the presidency of John Adams."

Who said the US was founded on religion? I said some of the laws were based on it. I also said that the founders were very religious. I can see that you will continue to create your own narrative as if suits you, so feel free to continue this on your own.....

Atheists shouldn't follow any laws then since all of our laws are based on religious tenants.

Ya know how I know you're full of it...

Ever read the Treaty of Tripoli?

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."
