Discuss prior to all but low dollar gun purchases. If it's a smokin' deal, she encourages me to go ahead if discussing it first would cause me to lose out.
Believe it or not, my sammich maker buys me more guns than I buy for myself. on the converse, I just bought her a Beretta 92FS with Laser grips a few days ago that she loves. No issues here!!
As long as both 401K's and both IRA's are maxed out, the house is paid off and all the bills are paid, sure!
Or I could ask for my sack back and do what I want, within reason of course. JK!! LOL!!
Joking aside, We pretty much buy what we want because we did with very little The first 20 years of our marriage.
No I don't ask, neither does she.
But like beardking said, it's always good to let the other know, hey, I just spent $xxxx so funds are available for bills or whatever.
It's not an issue for me. I pay some bills, she pays some bills. She has her money, I have mine. I don't ask her to justify anything she buys, she gives me the same consideration. A few weeks ago I was buying a truck and sent her a picture from the dealership with a note saying "I'm getting this" and she said something like "ok, what do you want for dinner?" We agreed early on that taking care of the bills, the kids, saving some, and planning for the future was the priority and to never argue about finances. That means we both have to be responsible and considerate but it's worth it to never say or hear "Where did you get that and how much did it cost?"
I never mentioned it. Then again she never had access to my safe. To her, they all looked like the same blackn gun.
When we divorced, she had no clue the value of its contents!
Son is now following in my footsteps.
No I don't have that problem. The PROBLEM I have is when she hears me talking about guns and other items usually within a week she has bought it for me.
Yes, she is my wife and best friend...
I can tell you all about OPI finger nail polish, Coach purses, and all types of perfumes.
She can tell you all about.Class III and Destructive Devices, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and automatic knives...especially Italian picklock...original 1950-1960's.
There's no-one else who has helped "us" during our college years and onward as she has. Rich or poor, better or worse...she is my wonderful wife.
Love, love, did I mention I love my wife....
Having an 11, year younger than me wife has it's benefits...every Friday she gets me a 12 pack of Schlitz and usually every weekend....well the Country singer Charlie Rich sang it best. The song: Behind Closed Doors.
