Yes, lots of important issues to discuss, but this thread is about police violence and killings. On that topic, the president of the united states has publicly, openly, and purposely incited police violence...so yes it's definitely relevant. We need a leader than can bring peace to our country and help with police-community relations, but Trump is instead polarizing our country further.

Must have missed where Trump is inciting police violence... Show me the footage plz.

Only the liberal left can say he advocated police violence in his remarks. He said don’t be too easy on them and the MSM all had orgasms rushing to falsely interpret what was said. Police are too easy on criminals. We are more concerned with what the police do in this country than we are at the crimes committed. Multiple offense criminals are back on the street in days but we sensationalize what 1 police officer does. Almost every department in OK is hiring. Maybe some of those that criticize their every move can step up and show how it’s done.

Still waiting on someone to answer why the US has a higher incident rate of police killing cillivians than other developed countries. It can't be the 2A as we all make the argument that bad guys will use anything ad a weapon if they didn't have guns and the data shows that the police do in fact kill bad guys that are armed with weapons other than guns. So what is it? Does the US just have that many more bad guys than the rest of the world? If that's the case what is causing the number of bad guys to be so high here compared to the rest of the world?

Very valid question. As someone who grew up with, and still has, a conservative, pro-law enforcement mindset (and someone who went through the hiring process and almost became a state trooper), it's a hard one to wrestle with.

As you can see from responses already you often get one extreme of "we aren't hard enough on criminals" and "we need to shoot more of them" to the other hysterical "all cops are violent racist gunslingers".

The answer is somewhere in between. Who's smart enough to figure it out? Not me, but the numbers do seem to indicate that there is a valid question to be asked.

Is it our society? Are we more violent? Is respect for authority declining? Is it law enforcement training and hiring? Is it an increasing sense of us vs them? Is it all of it combined?

Nah, the idiot is inciting police violence...and many police chiefs and sheriffs immediately responded about how inappropriate and wrong his comments were, and that he is hurting their attempt to make community relations.

Gotta love you Trump haters taking every word the man says and twisting it to meet an agenda. He could read the Declaration of Independence out loud and some people would say he is encouraging division of our nation. Obviously, to those who have common sense, he doesn’t want police to be violent. If it makes anyone feel more justified in their hate for him, feel free to misconstrue his remarks. I heard he farted in the Oval Office this morning. I think that’s contributing to global warming and air pollution.

Funny you should mention that. NPR Tweeted excerpts from the Declaration on Independence Day and Trump supporters got offended....not having a clue what the tweets were about...and accused them of having an agenda.

See how that works? There are irrational people on both sides of the Trump issue.

What has our leader done to help the contentious police/community relations our society is currently experiencing? Do you think his remarks are helping those in any way?...if yes, who are they helping?

I seen this and it is funny how the article you posted only has the Conservative reaction because the actual tweet string had both sides going off the deep end!!! The whole tweet stream was funny as hell, got a good laugh out of it. As both sides were running their mouth before they realized what the hell they were talking about, seems to be a growing issue in the world.
Article should have posted the whole thing, not the portions that are pushing their agenda LOL.
