I had a chance to buy one years ago and I just saw it as an over-priced novelty item. That's the same way I view the cheap plastic high-capacity drums. I am against the ban on principle but I bypassed buying one when I learned they existed so I guess I just figure so few of us own them, that it will be a small price to pay in trade for this shooting. If it gets the liberals off our backs then so be it...but on principle I am against it.

I believe the 2nd amendment was meant for the minuteman to be able to own whatever an infantryman could normally carry. At the very least "citizen armories" like they have in Switzerland would be good...limit your homes to semi-auto but have strategic armories with key holders stationed around the country...these would contain more advanced weapons...the national guard is supposed to fit this bill but if the feds have ANY control over them then it invalidates that solution and the civilian armories would be necessary (if you believe in the 2nd amendment's true purpose).

Anyway, they are going to ban the bump stocks, but it is a small price to pay for all the public outrage, I just hope not a slippery slope...the guy used high-dollar, hi-cap mags and not the drums so I hope they don't move the focus beyond the bump stocks and look at those.

So what do we have give up on the next mass shooting?

Your idea on citizen armories is interesting, but the founders were all too familiar with warring against a tyrannical government. They wanted us armed with whatever was available not what one could carry.

What many, especially the liberal left, fail to realize is the reason for the 2A was for citizens to have the ability to defend themselves from a tyrannical government. I’m not advocating that we have the right to own RPGs or an F16 with missiles, but we do have the right to be sufficiently armed to make the government think twice. The ban in 1986 has already gone too far and I’m certainly against any further restrictions. Regulating or banning anything, short of giving up all freedom, will not prevent a sick minded individual from causing mass murder.

The right is ALWAYS the one to cave...to give that inch. It never comes back...and we usually lose more than that inch we gave.

Interesting that we have 9 "pro-2A" members that want more gun control laws.

It all comes down to responsibility. I'm definitely a pro 2nd Amendment person, however, I would vote against a bill allowing open carry in a bar (not a restaurant serving alcohol, but a BAR). That does not make me anti-2A, it makes me concerned about what the Libs would due about our gun rights if a bunch of drunks started shooting each other over petty things. Wouldn't happen? Fights at closing time is a common occurrence at many bars. Am I anti 2nd Amendment? NO, but sometimes you have to give a little to avoid giving a lot (just make sure that what you get is a whole lot bigger than what you gave).

That's nice and all but exactly from where does your "It shall be . . . " come from. Just because it was [supposedly] exhibited by ABC does not make it official. Do you have a link to the actual bill itself?
