I like SF and have a few WML, handhelds, etc. I won't buy anything from them anymore, not because of their contributions, but simply because they have been outdone for years, minus the 600's. Though I like the controls of Surefire WML's, I don't think I can spend the $$$ when you can get Streamlight for more than half their price.

I more or less gave up on Surefire for Streamlight years ago. Not for anything political like this, but just because Streamlight seems to "up one" on Surefire in every way. If Surefire comes out with a new light with 500 lumens, Streamlight will offer a similar torch with 600 lumens.

Now then, having said that, I just recently bought a gently used Surefire E2T-MV "Tactician" from a member here. Mostly because I liked the light's features and interface, but also because the price was right. I did not know about Surefire's "sell out" if you will until after I purchased it. If'n I had known that, I may or may not have bought it...who knows.

However, just because they offer support to the lefties, doesn't make their product bad. I still wear Levi's jeans and Nike shoes as well and they have both been on the other side for years. Remember when we all boycotted Smith & Wesson when they put locks on their revolvers?

If you really wanna get technical, we should boycott everything that used to be made here but has now been moved overseas or to Mexico. If we did that, we'd really be in a world of sheet.

I'm not ready to throw Surefire under the bus just yet. This is a straight up admission and explanation. It's what Benchmade SHOULD HAVE done. Cliff notes is that they were greasing palms in search of DOD sales. It's just the way things are done. If you don't pay you don't even get to ask to play. That's not Surefire's fault and they don't have the stroke to change it like Lockheed Martin somewhat did (to an extent) with the JSF program. But, Surefire didn't get the DOD contract they were after and walked away. Good on them...
