The times I've been in Chicago, I've parked my car in the hotel lot and walked wherever I needed to go. The first time I was there, I noticed that every last Chicago PD car I saw had body damage, and I figured if the freaking cops were getting hit, I didn't want any part of driving in that town.

Yeah, I've only been to Chicago proper 1 time YEARS ago and I was a passenger the whole time. Of course, the whole time I was also reminded why you don't let Texans drive in the snow. I swear I thought my boss was out to kill me and everyone around him.

Didn’t read all of these but think that raising the speed limit will not improve travel time significantly enough to matter. It’s approximately 80 miles from the OKC junction to the Sapulpa split. Driving 80 mph will get you there in 60 minutes, driving 75 will take you 64 minutes. Only 4 minutes difference. That’s if you’re able to avenge those speeds. The reality is that there is a lot of truck traffic, slower moving cars, and construction slowing that down. People riding in the left lane and a semi going 67 passing another semi going 65 is what impedes traffic way more than the limit. The higher speed limit will have very little impact until they open 3 lanes the entire way. Sure you can make up ground a little faster with a higher speed limit but for the most part slow moving traffic governs the turner way more than cops do.
That’s why trucks should be right lane only, no passing. They don’t save much time anyway, so they might as well stay to the right. It would be much safer for everyone else and we could actually get somewhere.

cool, I can buy the Lamborghini Murcielago that I always wanted. So keep the left lane clear if you see a bright red lambo approaching...oh I don't wave.

I really like the 3 lane wide on Turner headed to OKC so much nicer to be able to get around the 2 dueling big rigs at 63mph. But were the freaking 10 million lumen LED lights really necessary 20 miles west of anything? Driving in those things at night is a pain in the eyes. I am sure someones brother in law made a killing on them. Like taking out all the dirt barriers and replacing with those wire things that are always busted and have crews repairing them. Never seen them have to replace the dirt mounts between turnpikes.

So, you are saying you are special and that truckers are second class drivers? Just remember that anything you order online probably is arriving in some way on a truck. Same with stuff you buy at a grocery store, and also just about any other product. But, they should stay in the right lane so you have privileges?

I think he's saying (and if so, I agree) that because semis can't keep the speed going that cars and trucks do, then they should stay in the right lane as to not impede the flow of traffic.

Indiana drivers think Chicago drivers are the worst, and Chicago drivers think Indiana drivers are the worst. I have news for them--they're both right.

FWIW, I was the fourth car in line trying to turn left from 71st onto Yale just a little while ago, and I barely made it through on the yellow arrow because we had to wait while people were still turning left off of Yale onto 71st after our arrow turned green.

I lived in Salt Lake for a year and those folks are nuts!! Only thing I could figure is that they all thought that god was on their side.

Texas has lanes that trucks can't drive in but they are three lane. The far left lane is for cars/pickups only, and it appears there is no speed limit as it moves along briskly. lol....my kind of traffic.
