I'm sure they mean a lot to the families and friends of the 59% that have died.

59% of what? Near as I can tell, it is 59% of a small special group. I don't doubt that the families of those who have died are suffering the loss. It's the 59% figure of some group that has been singled out to come up with fearsome odds to strike fear into the general public that bothers me.

Did you even read what I posted or just make a comment about how meaningless statistics are at this point?

And BTW now it's at 66% deaths and 34% recovery for closed cases.

This thread is now a bunch of mixed up random sounding comments after the stupor mods mushed everything together.

I know we kind of like our threads like that here on OSA but it usually happens naturally, not forced by the hand of "the man".

Thanks for the support. I especially like being called a Stupor Mod. I am not "The Man", but I am a Moderator, and I am doing the best job I can. If you are dissatisfied with that, send the site owner a PM and ask him to remove me. His user name is okuma.

I won't send a warning or reminder to you for name calling, since you are obviously so upset about my merging the threads, even though personal attacks like this are against the rules.

A much better response might have been if you'd sent me a PM and expressed your dissatisfaction to me, rather than resorting to calling me a Stupor Mod. You could have even asked me to roll it back! Imagine that, being mature about it.

With regards to "reported cases and deaths," I'm reminded of a CBS news clip I saw earlier today where some CBS reporter that was self quarantining himself reported on a family in New Jersey that had 6 people contract the CV and 3 had died. All in the same family. However, his reporting only spoke of the death of one woman that was 73 years old. Absolutely NO MENTION of overall health conditions or to whether any of those people had been traveling overseas.

At best, that can be called irresponsible journalism.

I just watched the press conference from the OKSDH and I can't believe it.
He said their ability to test is dwindling and doctors will have to turn to private labs for testing.
We keep hearing about millions of tests going out and I posted an article about the air force flying in 500,000 test kits from Italy earlier this week.
If there really are millions of test kits I don't know where they are going.

Maybe because athletes, celebrities and the rich are getting preferential treatment while us minions are left to founder?
