Yep. After I walked the job last week (pre lockdown) the company actually called me back and said they'd look into the reasons I quit. They begged me to come back as a lot of the drivers are wanting home to be with family. Discussed the CV-19 issue with them and was informed the authorities have declared the trucking industry to be an "essential industry" and the drivers to be "essential employees". In some cases, the govt is relaxing hours of service rules on certain loads. So I'm back to work for the time being.

Ha! I haven't been considered "essential" to anyone for a long time.

In a little bit different world I would be sent to the euthanasia facility.

Yup I got me a couple fancy letters to keep in my work truck from the Homeland Security Cyber infrastructure saying to please give me access where needed and priority for fuel access. If it gets to the point where I gotta try and use them. Well who knows if I will still want this job.

After looking at that list though damn near everything is considered critical or essential.
