Yep, used to be District Emergency Manager for USPS and anything that happened in 570 post offices such as fire, tornado, flood, power outages, you name it got me a phone call in the middle of the night and sometimes long days ahead coordinating the response. I miss it like a pimple on my rear end. The BS we used to have to go thru during the anthrax attack days did little if anything to prevent exposure. I’m sure it’s no better with Kung Flu.
I’m sure most employees are stepping up and getting the job done while the usual suspects are claiming every little symptom they can to avoid work.

I guess I'm essential. I talked to my supervisors about working from home. Was denied the option since I work as a paramedic.

I used to be essential at the power plant, but retired. Now I'm only essential to the lady at the liquor store, and the guy running the bait shop for minnows.
I was in 5 of those at one time or another. Kinda still in one but still recuperating.
Dammit all, I'm on that stupid list.
Of course, there will only be about eight of us working in the office next week, so I guess I might as well go in and enjoy the peace and quiet.
