Any comments from the state and county road crews as to why they were completely AWOL for this event?
They sprayed brine on the Creek Nation turnpike over the weekend. I don't recall seeing any on the Beeline on Sunday, but I didn't go on it north of the Creek.

Yesterday morning, I stepped out the front door and was surprised to see ice on the wall near the downspout from the gutter and ice glittering on the steps. It looked pretty thin, so I stuck the toe of my boot on to see if it was ice or just wet, decided that I wasn't really interested in learning to downhill ski, and turned around and went back inside.

So far a relativlely balmy 28 degrees in SE. Front seems stalled and slow moving. By Sat they are saying 9 degrees. I wish you guys would keep this crap up there. I have 2 new loads worked up I am dying to test out but I am not about to go the the range in this garbage.
If I see that damn groundhog I'm blowing his stinkin head off.

Calling for -7 Sunday morning. I dont think I have ever seen it that cold in OK.
Yes, the groundhog must DIE!
The temperature on my back deck hit -4*F on January 7, 2017 (I only know that because I took a couple of pictures of my indoor/outdoor weather station). I remember it getting bitterly cold back in '83 or '84, but I don't recall how cold it was. It was cold enough that when I was in my dad's car, even after it had warmed up it still looked like I was smoking when I exhaled...

UPDATE PLEASE: I think I already know the answer to my question, but let's fast forward to today, 2-9-2021...what's it like out there? It looks awfully cold from my vantage point near the fireplace.
The girl that helped with Sweetie this morning passed one wreck near Madill on Hwy 377, and had to detour around another one at Hwy 32 that had Hwy 377 blocked. We had fog/drizzle late yesterday evening.

Low last night was 24, it was up to 25 for a few hours this morning, and now it's back to 24 again (at almost 1:00pm).

And this is Marshall County...
