Is anyone else getting the impression that this offense likes playing with Caleb? Perhaps they dont like the Rattler attitude?

By the way that loud clicking sound we heard at halftime was Rattler entering the Transfer Portal :laugh6: :laugh6::laugh6:
Well my doubt was incorrect. He may yet lose but damned if the team hasn't rallied around #13. BOTH sides of the ball!

I am telling you if Caleb isn’t starting next week then Riley should fired. What that told me wat Rattler is a prick in practice and on campus and the team doesnt much care for him. Kind of like the Rhett Bomar situation, frankly I didn’t think Riley had the stones to bench Rattler

Uhmmm. Riley has benched Rattler in the past. In the Red River Shootout, IIRC. I think it was just last year. He brought him back and he was fantastic.

That’s a heck of a lot of pressure to put on a true freshman (who didn’t even get to play football his senior season in HS due to Covid), but the kid came through with flying colors. His decision making was solid, and he didn’t get rattled by mistakes. I think those two fumbled snaps were highlights for him—he didn’t panic, he just picked up the ball and carried on with the play like nothing had happened. Doing that, especially in that kind of environment, is nothing short of impressive.

Yes, last year, but he brought Rattler back in the second half of the game. I don’t think bringing him in to run the 2-point conversion this year is quite the same thing, though.

Caleb is SOOOO much better at taking what this offense gives him and lets the game come to him. Rattler should have learned it over the past year, and seems to be regressing depending on the day.
