I believe it's not what he did, but HOW he did it.
Exactly. I am happy he left. He was not a good head coach. He would not be able to cut it in the SEC. The fact remains that Riley knew he was gonna go yet didn’t tell anyone. All the while not giving a rats rear if we won anything. This was a very dirty thing he has done. Especially to Bob. Bob vouched for him not only to the University but to the fans. And the fact that Riley is costing us recruits further cements how big a pile of crap he is. He knew this was gonna happen. He knew what he was doing to the program.

Ive heard people talking about Riley doing this because of the money and all that. He will pay so much money in taxes and cost of living he would probably end up making more living here being paid what he was. Plus our state is such a great place to live and raise a family. He had it made here. There is a reason the King and Bob are still here and still loyal to the program. They are treated like royalty around here.

Lastly, the reason Riley didn’t want to go to the SEC is because he knew he couldn’t win in that conference. He just isn’t at that level. The PAC 12 is perfect for him. I don’t wish him well. I hope he sucks and loses his job and fades away. What he has done is unacceptable. But, I think we will end up in a great place. I have 100% faith in Joe C and Bob to choose the right coach. And if it’s Venerables, I will be happy with it. He is a good coach and I think he would be a great fit as a head coach in the SEC. We will be fine.

When you are (were?) the highest paid public employee in the state of Oklahoma, you are going to be bitched at by someone, somewhere, no matter what you do or do not do. That is the price of draining some five million dollars from the state treasury every year. Each and every taxpayer has the right to ***** long and loud about how his/her tax money is being spent (wasted?). Now that Mr. Riley has made his way to sunny southern California, he'll be free of all that, as his new paymasters hail from a private university. Who said that boy ain't smart?

Supposedly the USC move was worth $10M.
So, for Lincoln dad of two, husband, beach access 20 minutes away, it was a no brainer for him and his family...

I would welcome Brent back, his salary at Clemson is $800,000. He could easily get $3M at OU..

Yeah, except the coaches aren't paid by the taxpayers, except for the taxpayers who are also donors or ticket holders. Athletics at OU (and, presumably, OSU) are self-funding ventures, they don't take money out of the University's state funding (which only accounts for about 30% of its funding, anyway).

Now I feel better. Not a penny of my tax dollars being wasted....

Whoever the next coach is at OU, I'm pretty sure their salary is going to be considerably more than 1.1 million. Probably considerably more than $3 million.
