When I was a kid, they said the superintendent would only call a snow day if he couldn't get to the office, and he supposedly drove a 4x4. I don't remember having any snow days, even when we had ice on the roads, and they sure didn't call it off based on a chance of snow.
Exactly. We had a bus and that dang thing was slipping and sliding cutting ruts in the rain and snow for the 20 mile route. If we were lucky, we got let out an hour early to give the busses time to get us home.

Tuttle school is still going today! My kids are out the door. We ain’t skeered of a little chilly rain and flurries out here in Tuttle ‘Murica
Piedmont is going as well. I will just have to keep an eye on weather to see if we need to get my son from school to work or the roads are clear enough for him to drive.

I think those of us in the SW corner are going to get it a little more than you guys near The City. They’re calling for 6-8 inches here by Lake Lawtonka.
Oh yeah, we just havent had enough snow yet to give him any practice driving in it. Id rather him not have to figure it out on his own driving down NW Expressway with a bunch of other people that dont know what they are doing, hahaha. That crap makes me nervous and I'm pretty confident in my ability to get about any vehicle down the road safely in anything but solid sheets of ice.

Started snowing about 20-30 min ago, giant flakes and the ground is solid white already. We weren't predicted to get much, at this rate we will though.

Here, but occasionally There.
Can remember my wife commuting from Enid to Weatherford many times in the snow because they wouldn't close campus lol. Same for OSU. If you were a commuter and couldn't make it, you just missed class because campuses never closed.

Back in the '80's, my wife attended college at Panhandle State in Goodwell, OK. She drove a car with front wheel drive and seldom ever missed making the 40 mile trip to the college. There were a few times when her instructor gave her extra credit because she made it to class but kids living on campus didn't.

As for today, it is 38 degrees here at the RV park and while we had some light rain earlier, there is nothing going on at the moment. But, we'll see how the day finishes up.
