I like all these "in the past" stories...here's my lunch box TODAY 
BBQ Beanie Weinie, Vienna Weiners. Dinty Moore used to have a meatball stew I really liked. Banana pudding cup. Del Monte Spanish Rice. Kraft Chicken Noodle Dinner.
Buttermilk cornbread and gravy or butter.
Chocolate Sodas. Wilhite’s DQ was best but Braum’s did ok.
My papaws homemade ice cream.

Gov't cheese and butter...
$.25 generic chicken pot pies and $.25 generic Mac and cheese saved my like many times.

Pretty much grew up on Vienna and Kraft singles. Then again, my mom would throw all sorts of things together. Goulash was a staple for sure.

Hell i have seen times when bread and water was all i got and if i had some of the foods listed here i would have thought i was in a high dollar fancy restraint. But yes i have lived off of most things listed except the beans and cornbread i would find something else even though i dont mind some good sweet cornbread from time to time.
