What is the state law on producing I.D. on demand from law enforcement

Pardon, what you fail to understand about people who recently came here from Californiastan is we did not vote for the bs there, we did not ask them to release inmates by the thousands with no where to go, we did not ask for homeless to set up camp across the street from our homes, we did not ask for law enforcement to treat honest citizens and home owners like criminals just for trying to defend themselves, we did not ask to be terrized be our police force, nor did we ask for them to be defenunded! We were expected to live with all of this without the right to bear arms! I say it like that because there if you have a gun and a law enforcement encounter you will probably have a funeral following. Honestly if yall don't wake up a bit what is happening there will be here. We did not come here to bring that with us, we came to a better place for a better life. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions in this country, we are also free to live where we want, and Oklahoma is a beautiful red state!

- A few years ago my son and his SO moved to Massachusetts from Oklahoma because of his job, and even after two years of living there, they were still being looked at as being just 'ignorant Okies' by their clicish New England neighbors even though Scotty and his wife tried really hard to fit-in.
- People moving here from predominantly 'Blue' states will always have that 'Blue' accent about them when it comes to their core beliefs even though they don't see it nor claim it as so.

(BTW - Scotty and his wife moved back to Oklahoma, said he couldn't stand it up there LOL).

Being pulled over in a shady area on suspicion of committing a crime and failing to ID during a police 'investigation' happens. Regardless of whether any of this was legal or not is something to be debated about in a court, not on the side of the road.

So many people don't seem to be smart enough to understand this (in the court - not on the road) and ALWAYS end up losing worse, and sometimes even getting injured, than they would have if they just did what was asked at the time, then debated the whole thing in a court later (with or without an attorney).

the only thing i fail to understand is someone who thinks their opinion is the only one that matters and is significant. you do not come off the way the other guy here does. you made honest opinions and described what you were trying to get away from and i understand that and applaud it. unlike him you aren't trying to shove your beliefs down our throats you listen to both sides, at least it seems so. he thinks just because he says he was from a conservative county it makes him a conservative, his attitude and comments prove that isn't so. i believe and it will be hard at this point to convince me otherwise that he is a troll only here to stir the pot.

The problem with QI is that it's a complete Catch 22. If there's no legal precedent to inform the cop that a behavior is not allowed, then QI prohibits a citizen from bringing suit against a cop.

You see the problem there? If you're required to have a legal precedent and there are no legal precedents, there can never be any legal precedents. Even if it's something a six-year-old knows is wrong.

There has to be a balance in there somewhere (we obviously don't want every criminal to be able to sue the cops who arrested them), but QI as fabricated by the SCOTUS is broken.

fact of the matter most are good. i don't support bad ones neither and i think they should be treated like any other guy who commits a crime maybe even harder depending on what they done. but most are just guys and gals doing a hard job made harder by dumb people who never done it, but think they know how to do it. and saying they shouldn't drink. gimme them a break man they are no matter what you think only human and there ain't nothing bad with having a drink or two. i ain't saying it's okay to get falling down stupid drunk, but relaxing with a drink or two is just as much their right as it is yours and mine and all Americans.

Kinda hard for many of them to get more sleep when they got to work extra jobs to support their families because they don't get paid enough. sucks, but that's the way it is for most cops, they ain't got a choice. training hard, can't argue with you there. some do, most probably don't least not enough. other thing with that though is money, most agencies especially small ones don't have the money to send them to training and they don't have the staff to cover for many to go often when they do get some money so what are supposed to do. i sure don't know, just asking

I understand your comments come from a place of compassion but being an Officer is not a right. It’s a privilege. No one forced anyone into the life. No one was drafted.

If someone signs up for a life of sacrifice, they don’t get to use that as an excuse for mistakes.

Hard day, long nights, kids screaming, new borns, marital problems. They should be expected to either take the day off and get some help or get over it. But we have too many people that keep saying the “you have a hard job,” and “you’re only human” mantra.

There is not a single other job in America that can affect our rights as much as a peace officer. The president can’t even arrest you.

That comes with an insane amount of responsibility. You don’t get to run from it because you make a mistake. Police should be held responsible for their actions just like anyone else.

I’ve worked many jobs in my life. I’ve never seen so much partisan bull crap be spewed about such an important position. Law enforcement can have such a massive impact in your life, either for good or bad.

Every American citizen should be vigilant and suspicious of anyone with such authority. It’s not disrespectful to say to an Officer, “you have no right to ask me that,” or “I refuse to answer anymore questions.” It’s not disrespectful to say, “you chose this life, live with the consequences.”

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one, people who use where someone comes from to group them is biased. While the ones that destroyed cali are fleeing as well were not one of them, our family lives here and is from here lol

Well it's a good thing I wasn't asking for approval! Your opion matters, but has no impact on my life! "Dumb okies" is what they called us in California! Being that most of us where grand children of the dust bowl migration and have plenty of family in these parts. In my opinion they are doing their best to divide us, and have us fight amongst each other. Oh I never minded being a rebel, or going against the grain to stand for me and mine. I truly don't care about the parties and there options, I am a Patriotic American bottom line! However I chose red because I love Freedom, we should try to find more in common rather than finding differences.

I feel anytime they have a physical altercation or discharge their firearm their immunity should be gone, but also don't need them in court all day defending themselves from people with hurt feelings.
