So here's the deal..

Next week my wife and I are going to spend a few days at one of the riverfront cabins at Beavers Bend. I would be perfectly content trout fishing for 16 hours a day, but that won't be much fun for her. We've never been down there before and she's concerned we'll end up just twiddling our thumbs most of the time.

For those of you who have been or live in that area, what is there to do down there other than fish? Are the float trips on the MF river any fun? We'll be down there from Tuesday to Friday.

Been a while since I've been to the park, but there were lots of little shops along the highway with junkware etc if she is interested in that. You can see lots of wildlife in the park as well. Don't forget your trout stamp is fishing in the trout streams.

I have a lifetime license - don't need the trout stamp do I?

The trout stamp in general, was eliminated three years ago.
Non resident fees were increased to cover the lost revenue.
All you need now is a fishing license.

The float trips are nice and relaxing. Don't know if the MF one's are scarier, but they sound like it. Kayak FTW.

You can race Go Karts across the road from the State Park too.
