Most restaurants will bring an extra plate no problem. Some charge a dollar to split the meal. But that's ok cause they give us each a whole salad and our own sides.
Well worth the extra buck.

we have a place near us that charges extra for the 'split plate'. We know the folks, but I do want to point out we aren't splitting a ticket in terms of $$ value but just items. We still get enough to equal more a ticket for two.

one of the managers knows us and doesn't hit us with the added fee. One doesn't know us and does.

Is it cool to split a meal with your old lady at a restaurant in Oklahoma? Is it effeminate or for old people? Should it be legal?

Easy.
If the clock is <10am for lunch or <4pm for dinner, splitting that meal earns 'old people' label.
If the food is mainly melon and you're sharing an appletini with two intertwined straws, it is 'effeminate'.

Outside that criteria, it's cool. Not everyone needs to be a fatso. Sharing food is an easy call.

On the real tho we will split sometimes. Usually a fan of 2 entrees and taking leftovers tho. That is if we are able to take them. Unless it's Mexican, pho, or BBQ. Or Evelyn's in Tulsa. Then I will eat 2 entrees by myself with no leftovers. Lawl.

My old lady gets mad when I assume she will want to share with me. I like trying new stuff. I'm a fan of the "take some of mine, let me try yours" approach but she subscribes to nff's fork stab policy. Go figure. She says I abuse that privilege.

My main concern with splitting is the waiter thinking "oh great this cheap kid is gonna stiff me on the tip" Not so. I'll tip closer to what he'd make serving a two-top, which he effectively is. That only seems fair, especially Thurs-Sat.

Who cares what the waiter thinks. If he/she has half a brain they wont ever even think that! Won't change a thing!

Back on point...I always eat off my wifes plate :naughty:

seriously though, I do. She wont touch mine (although she could) unless she made a really bad choice at a new place.
